I enjoyed the antics of Poppy and his ever growing need for digging holes from small to large and his determination to finishwhat he would begin . She showed us some very neat pictures
of Poppy. Other than a few times of running two words together quite often in this ebook I feel this ebook should have five star for sharing such a heart warming story. I recommend this ebook for those who enjoy reading stories like this of someone wanting to
help rescue dogs from the shelters that would otherwise in time destroy them. I am glad that people like her can do this for those who are not allowed to have pets in their homes for various reasons. Cute short story about an impish dog. Enjoyed very much. Written so children can read and enjoy. Kind of reminds me of one of my dogs, a Yorkshire Terrier mix.
Vicky Kaseorg, must have been a dog in a previous life! She has gotten inside the head of a wonderful Carolina Dog named, Poppy. Cleverly written and down right funny, she tells the story of a rescue dog that just can't stop herself from digging out of her fenced in yard. Poppy is loved by her patient Mom, Carrie whose love for Poppy has no bounds. If you have a dog that you treat like a member of your family... you need this book. Wonderful and expressive illustrations. A little gem.
As Poppy's mom, I must admit partiality.....but this book really captured my little dingo girl and her quirky personality. I loved it. And yes, she still digs out regularly

It took about 20 minutes to read this heart-warming story about Poppy and her inspiring determination in life! She knows her strengths and her need to dig symbolizes her knowledge of her purpose. We all need purpose in our lives and something to look forward to each day. And Poppy never lets new obstacles stop her or even slow her down! We humans can indeed learn a great deal from the canines we love.
I have read several of Ms. Kaseorgs' books & enjoyed them immensely. I especially like her attitude of Christianity concerning not only people but also animals because they are also God's creatures. She also writes straight forward & with compassion. Needless to say that I enjoy her books a lot & recommend them to all animal lovers. I look forward to more of her books. Thanks, Ms. Laser for so much enjoyment & inspiration.
This little tome was a charming gem to find! It is not "just a young adult book". As it's a true story, it details information about the mostly unknown Carolina Dog, whose history is not completely understood, beyond the fact that it is a domestic breed with a number of feral and ancient characteristics unknown in nearly all domestic breeds today. This gem takes all of 30 minutes from front to back cover. For a quick, painless and sweet way to learn about one person's experience with this often misunderstood breed, it's wonderful! For a look at the world through a dog's eyes, ears and nose; it's brilliant! I highly recommend this even to adults who are curious about little known breeds, or just enjoy a good dog story
